

Gale Wm. Fraser, II, P. E., joined the staff of the Regional Flood Control District in 1988 as Assistant General Manager and was appointed General Manager/Chief Engineer in November 1993. Born in Chicago, he graduated from North Dakota State University in 1977 with a degree in civil engineering. He was employed by a consulting firm in Fargo, North Dakota, from 1977 until 1986, at which time he relocated to Las Vegas where he was employed by the City of Las Vegas as a city planning engineer until he joined the Regional Flood Control District staff. The District’s mission is to improve the protection of life and property for existing residents, future residents, and visitors from the impacts of flooding while also protecting the environment.
Mr. Fraser is also a member of American Public Works Association (APWA), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM), Nevada Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee, Las Vegas Valley Watershed Advisory Committee, and UNLV’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Department Advisory Board.
