Waters of the United States

The proposed new rule on the definition of Waters of the United States was published in today’s Federal Register. 

A copy of the rule is attached and supporting documents related to the new proposed rule can be found at www.epa.gov/wotus-rule. February 27 and February 28th WOTUS Public Hearings Scheduled

In addition to the webinar held today on the proposed rule, EPA and the Corps have also announced public hearings on the proposed rule to be held in Kansas City KS, on the afternoon of February 27, 2019 and the morning of February 28, 2019.  Pre-registration to speak at the Kansas City meetings closes on Thursday, February 21.  To register go to https://www.epa.gov/wotus-rule/proposed-revised-definition-wotus-public-hearing.

Extension of Comment Period Requested by State Organizations

The Association of Clean Water Administrators, the Association of State Wetland Managers, the Environmental Council of the States and the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies today sent a letter to U.S. EPA and the Corps requesting that the 60-day comment period on the proposed WOTUS rule set to end now on April 15th be extended by another 60 days.
