The Flood Safety District - Executive Director (Portland, Oregon)

The incumbent in this role will be able to articulate a vision that integrates flood safety, climate resiliency, habitat restoration, water quality and environmental justice; be able to bring diverse groups to consensus; and have the knowledge and ability to provide services in a manner that respects diversity and promotes equity in all aspects of the District’s operations. Must possess political acumen to work with local and federal agencies, and community interests, and come to the job equipped with an innovative and proactive approach. The position reports directly to the Urban Flood Safety and Water Quality District Board. This position oversees all aspects of the organization, including Operations, Finance, Administration, Planning, Public Affairs and Engineering. This position provides general management direction to the agency, with the assistance of an Executive Team of directors and a Leadership Team of directors and managers. MS4 Compliance Superintendent

Aurora Water's mission is to enhance and protect the quality of life for Aurora citizens by providing safe, dependable and sustainable water, sewer and stormwater services, today and in the future. The Environmental Compliance Superintendent, under the direct supervision of the Manager of Environmental Compliance Services, is primarily responsible for overseeing, managing, and advancing the City of Aurora's compliance with its Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit and associating stormwater compliance programs. The County Floodplain Administrator is looking for a new Floodplain Project Manager to join the Travis County team. This position develops and implements specific countywide floodplain management policies, procedures, and projects consistent with the County's Floodplain Program and associated regulatory requirements. Successful candidates will have knowledge of standard theory, principles, practices, and techniques of floodplain management; federal, State, Local and County floodplain regulations and guidelines; methods, practices and techniques of review, inspections, compliance and enforcement.
