Sunny Simpkins
Executive Director
Water resources management professional with extensive experience in flood risk reduction. Former deputy director for a levee district, co-chaired Flood Management Committee, and served on the NAFSMA board before becoming Executive Director. Holds a B.S. in Geology from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.S. from Portland State University.

Susan Gilson
Senior Policy Advisor
With NAFSMA since 1989, Susan brings decades of water resources policy expertise. She works closely with congressional staff and federal agencies including the Army Corps of Engineers, EPA, and FEMA. Former NAFSMA Executive Director and former managing associate at Carmen Group, Inc.

Jennifer Cole
Director of Operations
Joined NAFSMA in 2022, Jennifer streamlines operations and develops organizational tools. Former Hydrologist at the Lower Colorado River Authority and former Geologist at an international consulting firm. Holds a B.S. in Hydrogeology from the University of Texas at Austin.
