Is Your Agency’s Guidance Showing Up in AI Search?
Join NAFSMA’s Innovation Working Group for a timely conversation on AI, public services, and what flood and stormwater agencies can do right now.
After months of listening sessions with member agencies, NAFSMA is ready to share what we heard and where we are headed. The Innovation Work Group launches its first webinar on June 16th, and we are starting with a topic that is already reshaping how agencies operate: artificial intelligence.
What We Heard From You
Over the past several months, NAFSMA engaged members in conversations about where your agencies need the most support and how NAFSMA can best deliver it. We will be sharing the results of those discussions during the webinar, along with our new AI Implementation Guidance developed to help member agencies navigate this rapidly evolving landscape.
The Case for Acting Now
Our featured speaker is Andrew Merluzzi, a researcher at the Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation at Georgetown University, whose work focuses on how governments and civic institutions can harness technology for the public good. Andrew will make a compelling case that governments can no longer choose whether AI mediates public services. That is already happening. What agencies can control is whether the tools people are using surface and cite accurate, official guidance. Andrew will share real-world case studies from agencies leading the way and lead a discussion on the practical challenges of AI adoption, including privacy, compliance, and data integration.
